This week I have felt refreshed – and after the past few months, it is a refreshing feeling!
Martin and I went on holiday for 10 days. The holiday was bookended by visiting respective parents in Devon, while the middle part was spent in Cornwall.
We stayed in St Ives, Gunwalloe, and Marazion and had a wonderful time exploring the area. While Martin and I have spent a lot of time in Devon, we could not believe we have not seen more of Cornwall. It is absolutely beautiful, with some breathtaking scenery.
Walks on the beach, exploring new places, evenings out enjoying a delicious meal and catching up with people were much-needed for us both. We were fortunate to enjoy some days with beautiful sunshine – incredible for the time of year – and the rainy days were not too bad.
We found many symbols of Hugo everywhere, and we wrote his name in the sand. I shall be writing a more detailed post about our trip in the next couple of days.
While I do feel refreshed, I am also as I type absolutely shattered – with the long drive home this morning, unpacking, laundry, replying to the many comments people have kindly left, and catching up with other bits and bobs. It’s a good kind of shattered, though.
Time for a relaxing evening, I think, with a glass of wine in front of the TV – I hope this refreshed feeling endures.
I’m so pleased you’ve had a break and that you feel refreshed, I hope the feeling lasts too xx

I’m so glad you’re feeling refreshed! I love Cornwall too, I toured around once when I was 21, staying in youth hostels all over Cornwall. It was such a fantastic time.

Refreshed is a good word … it could have been mine as I too was on holiday in Devon and Somerset at the same time as you and have come back pretty refreshed … although initially I was tired after the 12 hour journey back to France.

I always think it takes as long to ‘recover’ from a holiday as the amount of days you were away for. I love getting away but you’re right, the journey, packing, washing etc really does get to you! Glad you had a good break though. #pocolo
