N is for Nappy

Here’s Martin changing Hugo’s nappy.

Changing the nappy of a baby in an incubator is quite a challenge.

You’d change most babies’ nappies from the baby’s bum end.

When a baby is in an incubator, you have no choice but to do it from the side, and through the portholes.

There are the wires to contend with, and the baby’s kicking legs protesting they don’t like being handled.

Hugo would often make us laugh during nappy changes. I have a video of him lifting his bum up and out of a very wet nappy. It’s as if he is saying “Oh, the relief!”

BittersweetΒ memories.
